Ever wonder how international students see the US? What their opinions and insights are compared to our small corner of the world? How your son/daughter might benefit from interaction with an exchange student?

The Rotary Club of Clayton Valley is sponsoring its eighth international exchange student for CVCHS school year 2017-18 and is in need of “host” families to help support this effort. Past students came from Peru, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Nigeria, Switzerland and Taiwan and stayed for a year to experience what it’s like to live and attend school in the US and our golden state. Host families share in boarding and interacting with our exchange student, typically for three to four months.

This is a tremendous opportunity to share your home while learning a bit about life outside of Concord and Clayton, CA. Exchange students adjust best when meeting and living with other HS age students. They will be attending CVCHS and our weekly Rotary Club meetings, and are open to host family life experiences such as holiday travel, outdoor activities, music, sports and cultural events in the Bay Area and local eateries and shopping venues. You treat them as your own children and develop a life-long friendship which spans across the globe.

Families interested in hosting should contact either Jeff Rondini (510-693-8406), Fred Nelson (925-915-1015) or Chris Ruzicka (925-691-8859) to learn more and submit an application. Let’s show our support and hospitality towards this fun and engaging student program!

If you have any questions feel free to contact the Front Office at 925-682-7474 or our Athletic Directors:  Thomas.Sparks@claytonvalley.org or
