Enrollment

Enrollment in CVCHS should be an informed, carefully considered decision. As part of the application process, we request that students and parents or guardians attend an information session and orientation to learn more about the CVCHS educational program. Sessions are offered multiple times to allow for flexibility to accommodate the schedules of parents or guardians. Interpretation and translation resources will be available, as needed, to accommodate non-English speaking parents, and reasonable accommodations will be offered for parents/guardians with disabilities.

At the information session, parents and guardians will learn about the CVCHS mission, education program, and educational philosophy. CVCHS staff will explain the expectations for the parents and guardians to enable their students to comply with the school schedule and homework requirements and opportunities for parents to participate in committees that help operate the school.

Applications will be accepted during a publicly advertised Open Enrollment period each year for enrollment in the following school year. Following the Open Enrollment period each year, applications shall be counted to determine whether any grade level has received more applications than availability. If this happens, CVCHS will hold a public random drawing to determine admission for the impacted grade level, except existing students, who are guaranteed admission in the following school year.

The Charter School shall not request a pupil’s records or require a parent, guardian, or pupil to submit the pupil’s records to the Charter School before enrollment.
