NCAA Academic Eligibility

Welcome to the Clayton Valley NCAA Eligibility Home Page
As a school that takes pride in both academics and athletics, we want to make sure that our student athletes are properly supported and that they are given all of the information necessary to be successul at the college level. 
 
Basic NCAA Academic Requirements
The NCAA’s divisions were created in 1973 to align like-minded campuses in the areas of philosophy, competition and opportunity. 
Complete 16 core courses in the following areas: 
  • 4 years of English 
  • 3 years of Math
  • 2 years of Science
  • 1 additional year of English, Math OR Science
  • 2 years of HIstory/Social Science
  • 4 years of Additional Courses (Any subject area listed above, World Language or Comparitive Religion/Philosophy)
Complete 16 core courses in the following areas: 
  • 3 years of English 
  • 2 years of Math
  • 2 years of Science
  • 3 additional year of English, Math OR Science
  • 2 years of HIstory/Social Science
  • 4 years of Additional Courses (Any subject area listed above, World Language or Comparitive Religion/Philosophy)
Steps to Become NCAA Eliigible
  1. Register with the NCAA Eligiblity Center no later than the beginning of your junior year.
  2. Register by the Spring semester of your junior year to take the ACT or SAT.
    1. When registering, be sure to use the code "9999" to have your official test scores sent directly to the NCAA Eligiblity Center.
  3. Meet with your counselor to make sure that you are on track to gradaute and that you have the required amount of core courses at the end of each semester. 
  4. Request your final amateurism certificate beginning April 1st of your senior year. 
  5. Submit your final transcript with proof of gradaution to NCAA.
