Academy Application Process

Clayton Valley Charter High School is proud to share updated and exciting Academy information that impacts the Class of 2027 and beyond. Academy participation is NOT required as a student at CVCHS. As well, students may opt to take courses in and out of an Academy (adhering to any prerequisite that may be in place) as a stand alone course or pathway as well.  Note -  these updates DO NOT impact the class of 24-26 Academy students as there is NO change except the opportunity to enroll in AP classes if desired.   

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE CLASS OF 2027 AND BEYOND INCLUDE:

 
  • Increased opportunities for all interested students. Students are no longer "selected" but encouraged to research programs and select an Academy offering that addresses their goals and areas of interest. More information regarding CVCHS Academy and Pathway Programming may be found HERE.
  • Ensures all Academy students' ability to experience pathways of interest that include industry sector aligned certifications, college articulation, internships and/or work based learning. 
  • Public Service and Art Academy revisions are still in the works as they required more significant work to align certifications, internships, college articulation. Great things are in the works!
  • Students may choose a pathway OR full Academy participation. As well, many courses offered as part of a pathway may be taken alone. Academy participation provides students with increased opportunity for collaboration and activities beyond the classroom. Each Academy will have their own unique activities but examples may include: Academy events, meetings, field trips, community related participation and more. Students interested in  Academy participation must complete this Academy Interest Form after course selection.
