Incoming 9th Grade Course Selection

Ninth grade students must take 6 courses.  All 9th grade students are required to take the following courses:

• ERWC 9 
• PE 9
• Biology
• Algebra 1 (based on math diagnostic exam results, students who qualify will be moved up to Algebra 2).

Incoming 9th Grade (Current 8th Grade) Presentation

If you are interested in taking a 0-period course which starts at 7:30 AM (7:00 a.m. on Wednesdays), please fill out the request form here. Please note that we will try to accommodate requests but cannot make any guarantees.  0-period is optional. If a student is given a 0-period, they will have a 0-5th period schedule to complete a 6 period day unless they are requesting 7 periods in which they would have a 0-6th period schedule. 

ZERO PERIOD REQUEST FORM

The Academies at CVCHS function as small schools within the school. Students enrolled in an Academy must take required classes with other Academy members each year. Academy participation is NOT required as a student at CVCHS. As well, students may opt to take courses in and out of an Academy (adhering to any prerequisite that may be in place) as a stand alone course as well. Please visit the Academies Page or view the Academy Course Sequence for additional information. 

We offer a variety of Advance Placement (AP) courses.  We encourage our students to challenge themselves and take on the added rigor of an AP course during their time at CV.  It is important for students to keep in mind that these are college level courses and will have a greater level of rigor and will demand more time for homework/study. We encourage students to use the AP Time Management Plan to aid in planning their daily task with the goal of having a school life balance.

Students who plan to take an AP Course must fill out an  AP Agreement form and email the signed agreement back to their counselor or return it to Student Services.

Incoming Freshman have access to the following AP Courses:

• AP Human Geography
