What is Workers’ Compensation?

One event at work. Examples: hurting your back in a fall, getting burned by a chemical that splashes on your skin, getting hurt in a car accident while making deliveries.
Repeated exposures at work. Examples: hurting your wrist from using vibrating tools, losing your hearing because of constant loud noise.
Workplace crime. Examples: you get hurt in a store robbery, physically attacked by an unhappy Customer.

If you get injured on the job, you should follow the steps below:

Notify Alyssa Weed, HR Director, immediately of your injury.
- If it is an emergency, please ask the Main Office to call 911 for immediate assistance.
Call one of our physicians to be seen or treated for your injury.

Complete a Staff Accident Report Form & submit the completed form to Alyssa within 24 hours of the accident.
Complete Form DWC & submit the completed form to Alyssa within 24 hours of the accident.

If a student is injured at school, you should follow the steps below:

Notify Wendy Bumbaca (Manager of Admin. Services & Data Coordinator) immediately of your injury.
- If it is an emergency, please ask the Main Office to call 911 for immediate assistance.
If it is not an emergency, please treat the injury or send the student to the main office to receive treatment.
Call the parents of the student to notify them of the accident.
- If necessary, have the parent pick-up the student.
Complete a Student Accident Report Form & submit the completed form to the Front Office within 24 hours of the accident
