Hello CVCHS Students and Families,
Homecoming week is quickly approaching and from now until then ASB wants to make sure you and your families are prepared for this epic week at CVCHS. Make sure to read thoroughly through the newsletter as there is more info on HOCO week such as homecoming royalty, parade, and more! Ticket sales for the Homecoming dance taking place on Saturday, October 14th are on sale now. Tickets are $50 for students and $70 for guest passes. Tickets can be purchased at the Fiscal Office or on the Webstore. I strongly encourage you to buy your tickets sooner rather than later and to not be that student waiting in the long line on the last day of sales!
The Homecoming Parade Committee has done it. The Homecoming Parade is back Eagles! ASB is beyond excited to host this event and revive this long-held tradition. The Homecoming Parade will be on Thursday, October 12th from 5-6 PM in Downtown Clayton. We hope to see you there to witness the great culture of CVCHS featuring some of our clubs, sports, academies, and other great student organizations found at CVCHS.
This past week, ASB went through club applications to welcome our new and returning clubs on campus. More than 50 clubs have applied and we are so excited for students to get involved! Club Day is on Friday, September 29th in the Lower Quad. If you are interested in joining a club, this is a great opportunity to meet club officers to get involved. If you do not find a club that interests you, start your own club! Applications can be picked up at the Fiscal Office.
Class officers have many new fundraisers planned. The Class of 2025 will be starting their Otter Pop fundraiser on Friday, September 29th during Lunch. Buy an Otter Pop, support the Class of 2025, and check out the amazing clubs on campus! The Class of 2026 concluded its donut fundraiser last week. You can still support the Class of 2026 by attending their Dine & Donates happening this month! The next fundraiser will be on Monday, September 25th at Mod Pizza in the Veranda Shopping Center. Way to go, Class of 2026! We're so excited for the Class of 2027 to start their first fundraiser which is a Pie a Teacher in the Face during Lunch happening October 4th-6th. I hope to see our Freshman class ready to participate and support their class officers!
Lastly, the second home football game is approaching on Friday, September 29th. Be ready to white out with a white lie in the Blue Crew student section. I hope to see you all there showing off your school spirit!
Sincerely,
Fernando Perez

Hello CVCHS students and families,
My name is Fernando Perez. I am a Senior at Clayton Valley, this year's Associated Student Body (ASB) Class President, and I am excited to introduce to you what ASB Leadership is and what we are up to! ASB stands for Associated Student Body, and it represents the interests and goals of the entire Clayton Valley Charter High School Student Body. Students in ASB plan, organize and participate in activities such as formal and informal dances, Homecoming, Spirit Weeks, grade-level competitions, school rallies, school spirit, community awareness projects, cultural events, and club activities. Students who choose to run for an ASB office do so because they recognize that there is more to being successful in school than simply doing homework. ASB is full of Clayton Valley’s most involved students on campus. To that end, the officers and appointed members of the ASB class focus on providing engaging activities that ensure a well-rounded high school experience. Below, you will find some details about upcoming events, so make sure to read thoroughly!
One of the biggest student activities coming up is Homecoming Week. Homecoming Week begins Wednesday, October 11th, and culminates with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 14th, at the Concord Pavilion. Ticket sales are September 19th through October 5th. Get your tickets sooner rather than later! ASB takes Homecoming Week at CVCHS very seriously. The Homecoming Rally is planned for October 13th, and ASB is preparing to give the school an “astronomical” performance! Finally, the week of Homecoming is also Spirit Week. Themes will be released later this month for each day. The ASB class is working towards bringing back a long-held tradition of hosting the Homecoming Parade in downtown Clayton. We hope to see you there to bring back this long-held CVCHS tradition!
This week, the ASB class recapped our most recent event, the Senior Picnic. It was a fun day, and we had the largest turnout ever. The Senior class is excited to host more upcoming events and fundraisers, which all build up to the biggest event of the year, the Senior Ball. Senior Ball will take place in San Francisco on April 13, 2024. More details will be released as we approach the date. Please help the Senior class by participating in the Class of 2024 fundraisers, as this helps raise money for these events. The Class of 2024 were Freshmen during COVID and Sophomores during the slow return to campus, so they did not have as many opportunities to fundraise as other classes. The Senior Flea Market on September 23rd at the CVCHS parking lot is an exciting event for the Senior class. Stay tuned for more details.
Our Junior class is also actively engaged in fundraising, so they are prepared for their big event. Junior Prom takes place on March 23, 2024 in Oakland. Details will be released as the date gets closer. Juniors can support their class with an Otter Pop fundraiser on September 12th during lunch! Sophomores are beginning to organize fundraisers as well. Doughnut sales will occur on Fridays during lunch for the following three weeks. Support the Class of 2026! Finally, this week, ASB solicited votes for Freshman class officers. These students will be welcomed into the ASB class and start their own fundraisers. We can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2027 to ASB!
As you can see, your classmates, friends, students, and children are planning many of the big events at CVCHS. We could not host them without the great support and guidance from our ASB Advisor (shoutout to Ms. Ebert!) and CVCHS Administrators. Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for more updates on school events and activities. Stay UGLY & GO EAGLES!
Sincerely,
Fernando Perez
